PHOTOS
At Red Door Canines, we know how exciting it is to watch your puppy grow, and we truly enjoy sharing that journey with our families. To ensure clarity and consistency for all puppy families, our update process is as follows:
-Individual puppy photos are taken at birth(within the first 3 days of life), 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks
-Candid photos and videos are shared in each litter’s private Band photo album
Albums are updated weekly, not daily. There is not a set day in which we will upload photos. Our schedule can be unpreditable dealing with living creatures, so we ask that you be understanding and flexible just as we have to be.
For more frequent, real-time moments, we share updates on our social media accounts, and we invite you to follow along there.
As a two-woman team of professional breeders and trainers, often caring for multiple litters and families at the same time, we are unable to accommodate individual requests for additional photos or videos.
We are not a content team or influencers — we are professional breeders and trainers, and our priority will always be raising healthy, well-adjusted, well-tempered puppies. Our focus is hands-on care, early development, and thoughtful foundations, not documenting every moment.
Thank you for understanding, respecting these boundaries, and trusting Red Door Canines to raise your future puppy with intention and care.
VISITS @ OUR FACILITY
To ensure the health and safety of our puppies, we maintain a strict bio-security protocol. Because we are dealing with fragile living creatures whose immune systems are still developing, our priority is to protect them from external pathogens and parasites.
THE FIVE WEEK VISIT
We invite clients to one scheduled in-person visit when the litter reaches five weeks of age. This allows families to meet the puppies at a stage where they are mobile and beginning to develop their personalities, but have also developed a baseline of immunity. If you are unable to visit in person then we will also have a Zoom meeting at the same time so that you can see each puppy and be involved in the conversation and ask any questions that you may have.
VISITATION GUIDELINES
To maintain a safe environment, we adhere to the following rules:
- Limited Access: We do not allow visits prior to or after the five-week mark until the puppies are ready for pickup. This reduces the frequency of outside foot traffic, which is the primary vector for disease.
- Parasite Prevention: Parasites and viruses (such as Parvovirus) can be carried onto the property accidentally on shoes, clothing, or hands. Limiting visits is the most effective way to prevent these life-threatening risks.
- Health Screening: We ask that visitors refrain from visiting if they have been in contact with sick animals or have visited high-traffic dog areas (like dog parks or pet stores) within 24 hours of their appointment.
- Sanitation Protocol: Upon arrival, guests may be asked to remove their shoes or use a sanitizing foot bath and thoroughly wash or sanitize their hands before handling any animals.
KEEP YOU CONNECTED
While we limit physical visits for the protection of the litter, we provide regular updates to keep you involved in your puppy’s growth. This includes:
- Weekly photo or video updates via our Band app
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. By following these guidelines, you are helping us ensure that your future companion—and their littermates—remains healthy, safe, and strong.
