What does it mean to be a Guardian Home here at Red Door Canines??

When you become a Guardian Home we give you a “free”, meaning no upfront cost to you, breeding quality dog and in return you agree to let us breed him. We breed each male usually until they are neutered around ages 5-6. Once you and your dog have fulfilled the breeding contract, Red Door Canines will neuter your dog, cover the cost, and terminate the contract with you.

What is required of me??

First and foremost please remember these dogs are the prroperty of Red Door Canines and should be treated as such. They must be taught proper manners, commands, be crate trained, and well socialized. You must keep them safe and away from other dogs that are intact to avoid accidental breedings. Red Door Canines must be able to speak confidently about the temperaments of our parent dogs so that potential clients can get an idea of what their puppies will be like. We also ask that you feed Diamond Naturals All Life Stages which is what we feed our personal pets so that it’s easier when they go back and forth for breeding. You must have some type of major medical insurance plan so that if issues arise they can be taken care of. We can provide a list of companies that we recommend if needed. All guardian dogs must live in a house with a fenced in backyard and be leashed when out in public. We ask that you maintain open lines of communication with Shelley and Sydney about all things concerning the dog (ie: behavior, questions, vet visits, boarding, heat cycles, monthly updates, etc.).

Why would I want to become a Guardian family?

You would be helping us provide families with their very own Red Door Canines puppy. Previous guardians have thoroughly enjoyed watching their dogs puppies grow up and become companions for our clients. Please read the reviews below from our current guardians on waht their experiences have been like being a part of our program. Our goal is to raise puppies that help heal hearts and provide long term companionship to our clients and we can’t do that without you and tour participation in this process. We are able to have great dogs in our pgoram and allow them to be pets first rather than them living in a kenneled situation where they wouldn’t be able to get the daily love and attention they deserve.

If all of this information sounds like something that could be a good fit for your family, please reach out using the application button below so we can discuss more details and answer any questions you have. Our current dogs/puppies that are looking for Guardian homes are below.
