The seller guarantees this puppy is in good health, minus potential intestinal parasites, and has received the following: Age-appropriate immunizations, Subcutaneous microchip, Appropriate deworming.
The seller provides warranty against debilitating congenital defects for a period of 2 years after the date of sale. Seller guarantees that all possible steps have been taken with the sire/dam selection and breeding, to prevent hereditary issues. Debilitating congenital defects are defined as those present since birth, that are either life threatening or would prevent the puppy from fulfilling the intended purpose for which it was purchased. This warranty does not include viral illnesses, infections, improper bites, stress related illness, hernias, hypoglycemia, parasites (including giardia or coccidiosis,) cancer or endocrine disorders. It also does not include any illness due to the ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals or physical injury. No warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, are made under this contract except as stated. If the puppy is euthanized, or in any way disposed of without a second opinion from the seller's veterinarian, the buyer waives all rights to a replacement puppy. This warranty is non transferable.
Any suspected debilitating congenital defect must be confirmed by a licensed veterinarian, including a necropsy if the dog dies. Buyer must supply any requested veterinary records related to the dog's condition to the seller within seven days of diagnosis. Seller has the right to require a second opinion from a veterinarian or specialist of the seller's choice, at the seller's expense. If necropsy is performed and results in undetermined or inconclusive diagnosis, warranty is void.
If a congenital defect is identified within the warranty period, the buyer has the option to obtain a replacement puppy from the seller, of equal or lesser value from the next available litter.The original puppy need not be returned, provided there is proper documentation of the congenital issue provided to the seller. Breeder determines which puppy (of equal or lesser value) will be used as a replacement, and the wait time may be as long as 6-12 months. Shipping fees will not be refunded, and any costs associated with the shipping of the replacement puppy will be the responsibility of the buyer. Color and gender are not guaranteed.
The seller does not, under any circumstances, accept responsibility for any veterinarian and/or healthcare expense for this puppy.
The buyer agrees to pay the purchase price, stated on page one of the contract, in full before the puppy leaves Red Door Canines. Payment is to be made in cash, unless previous arrangements are agreed to by the seller.
The Buyer is responsible for all costs relating to the sale of the above animal, including transportation. This includes an appropriate travel crate. The risk of injury or loss to the above animal is the responsibility of the Buyer from the time the animal leaves the possession of the Seller.
The Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within three business days of taking possession of the animal. If the puppy is found to be in poor health, the Buyer has the option of returning the puppy to the Seller, at the Buyer's cost, for a full refund. The Buyer will provide a written statement from a licensed veterinarian clearly stating the defect or illness. If the puppy is not examined by a licensed veterinarian within three business days of taking possession of the puppy, the health warranty is void. Please be sure to keep the puppy off the floor at the vet's office, and that the exam room has been properly disinfected before the appointment. Bring a blanket to put on the exam table to ensure safety.
The Buyer is responsible for all medical expenses associated with the treatment of intestinal parasites, should the puppy be diagnosed after going home. It is very common for puppy parasites to flourish after joining a new family due to stress. Most parasites are contagious, and it's possible that other dogs in the house could also get them. Make sure the puppy's stools are picked up immediately, and be sure your other dogs are not eating it. If you are not willing to treat puppy parasites as necessary, please do not buy a puppy. It sometimes takes repeated treatments to rid puppies of them. Monthly/quarterly flea and tick medications, and heartworm medications help in the prevention of parasites.
The Buyer agrees to provide the best possible care for their puppy for the duration of his or her life. This includes, but is not limited to: Housing the puppy indoors, Feeding only quality food intended for dogs, Maintaining their puppy at a healthy weight, Having the puppy seen by a licensed veterinarian for a wellness exam annually, Taking the puppy to a licensed veterinarian if they get sick or injured, Keeping all immunizations current according to the guidelines of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Administering heartworm and flea and tick preventative medications regularly, Registration of microchip.
The Seller highly recommends the Buyer provide basic obedience training with their puppy within the puppy's first year.
The Buyer agrees to postpone strenuous, forced exercise until after their puppy is over one year of age, to minimize joint damage as the puppy develops
The Buyer agrees to contact the Seller immediately if the Buyer determines they are unable to keep their puppy for any reason. The Buyer and Seller will jointly determine how the dog will be rehomed.
The Buyer agrees to never place the puppy with a rescue group, a shelter, pound, or similar facility or research laboratory, but instead will bring the puppy back to the Seller.
The Buyer will allow the Seller to use any pictures of the dog that are posted on social media for the purposes of reposting and sharing on various social media platforms and the Seller's website, or in any manner they choose.
Spaying, neutering, or gonad sparing surgery (GSS) by a licensed veterinarian is required on the above puppy by 12 months of age, unless breeding rights and/or unlimited AKC registration is given.
Proof of this, in the form of a Certificate of Spay/Neuter from the veterinarian must be forwarded to the Seller within a month of the surgery. If the Seller does not receive documentation within this timeframe, the health warranty will become null and void.
It is understood that unless breeding rights or unlimited AKC registration is acquired at the time of sale, this puppy will NOT be used for breeding. Should this contract be broken, and the dog be bred, the Buyer will be required to pay the seller the sum of ten thousand U.S. dollars ($10,000) as penalty.
